Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu has reached the knockout stage for the third time in her career. On Wednesday, July 31, she secured her spot in the Round of 16 of the women’s singles at the Paris 2024 Olympics by winning both of her group matches. Sindhu defeated Estonia’s Christine Kuba with a decisive 21-5, 21-10 victory, completing the match in just 34 minutes. Earlier, she had triumphed over Fathimath Nabaaha Abdul Razzaq of the Maldives with scores of 21-9, 21-6. Alongside Sindhu, Indian shuttlers Lakshya Sen and the men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have also qualified for the knockout stage.
