In response to the vandalism at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, Congress General Secretary Deepa Dasmunsi commented, “It is true that what happened at RG Kar (the rape and murder of a female PG trainee doctor) is extremely tragic. The reality is that such incidents are not new in Bengal. Since Mamata Banerjee’s government came to power, there have been a series of such events, from Park Street to elsewhere. It is very shocking. The evidence of 150 grams of semen indicates that this is not a case involving 1-2 people but rather a clear instance of gang rape. The state government remains silent, but this must be exposed to the public. Mamata ji says the CBI will investigate later. What will the CBI do after all the evidence is destroyed? The truth needs to come out. Yesterday, TMC goons entered the premises. TMC workers have accumulated so much property, and nobody knows where that money comes from. They consider everything their property. Feudalism may have ended, but they still see it as their territory and act arbitrarily.
