The Tamil Nadu government would consider request seeking to drop charges against those protesting against the tungsten mining project in Madurai district, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said in the Assembly on Friday.
Mr. Stalin was responding to request made by Leader of the Opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami in the floor of the House. Mr. Palaniswami said that those protesting against the project were reflecting on the local sentiments.
Mr. Palaniswami further requested to drop actions against the protestors, including the registering of cases against them by the police.
