Budget 2024: ‘INDIA’ alliance plans protest against the budget in Parliament today
3 months ago |

On Tuesday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled the Union Budget, following Narendra Modi’s third consecutive term. The budget seeks to address various segments, including the poor, middle class, and wealthy, with notable increases in standard deductions and benefits for taxpayers under the new tax regime. However, some concerns arise from higher short-term and long-term capital gains taxes and the removal of indexation benefits.

The budget emphasizes job creation, skill development, and support for small businesses, featuring incentives for training companies and increased loans for education and small enterprises. It also includes reduced corporate taxes for foreign firms and lower costs for cancer drugs, mobile phones, and precious metals. The INDIA Alliance has condemned the budget as discriminatory and plans to protest in Parliament, alleging that the central government has marginalized certain states while favoring others.
