Russia’s forces lost 15 armored patrol vehicles and over two dozen artillery systems in the past 24 hours of fighting, according to Kyiv’s military.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine, which provides daily estimates of Moscow’s weaponry and equipment losses, said on Monday that Russia has lost over 14,000 APVs since the war began in February 2022. Kyiv also reported that Moscow lost 28 artillery systems, nine tanks, and over 40 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) between Sunday and Monday.

Alongside a graphic of the loss estimates shared by Ukraine’s Defense Ministry to X, formerly Twitter, Kyiv officials included a quote from the late French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte: “The truest wisdom is a resolute determination.”

Ukraine’s military also reported that 1,150 Russian personnel were “eliminated” in the past day of fighting, bringing Moscow’s casualty estimate to 502,340 since it launched its invasion of Ukraine. Russia does not publish reports regarding its own losses. A declassified U.S. intelligence assessment published in December 2023 said that Moscow had lost an estimated 315,000 personnel.
