PM Modi’s Deepfakes Take Over The Internet

There is a high chance that you would have come across at least one such video in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be singing or dancing. None of these videos were real and they were created with the help of AI. The amount of such videos existing on social media platforms is insane. The videos were so overwhelming that even the Prime Minister himself couldn’t ignore them.

PM Modi reacted to a deepfake video of him dancing and wrote, “Like all of you, I also enjoyed seeing myself dance. 😀😀😀 Such creativity in peak poll season is truly a delight!”

Not Being Able To Score A Date? AI Comes To The Rescue

A woman in Bengaluru was talking to a techie who seemed quite interesting on text but when they stepped out of the virtual world into the real world, that’s when things went south. A Redditor while explaining her experience wrote, “Went on a date last night with someone i thought i hit it off with. The conversations were really good, and finally found someone really funny and was super entertaining. Was really looking forward to the date and after i met him, things were so different. He could barely speak a proper sentence. Not that he was shy or awkward. It was the opposite. He was extremely confident and extroverted. But all that language and wit disappeared. It was so weird i was a bit taken back.”

She added, “We drank a bit and started generally talking about startups in Bangalore and AI. And he spoke in length about things in AI and some tools he’s using. Then he let it slip how he used AI even in his chats. And he quickly changed the subject. That’s when i realised what had happened. The dude has been using AI in all his chats with me!! And in person he was dull and uninteresting. I’m so annoyed with all that time invested it’s so fustrating. Seems like everyone in Bangalore is on some AI tool and I’m wondering if others have experienced this too?”

It’s possible that a number of people would be using AI on dating apps. Certain dating apps like Happn Boo openly let users use AI for texting and to come up with amazing ice-breakers.

Rajasthani Man Decides To Marry An AI-Powered Robot

An engineer from Rajasthan’s Sikar district decided to turn the movie ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon into a real life story. The techie was so much in love with robotics that he decided to get married to a robot, named Giga. Surya Prakash Samota shared that Giga is being developed in Tamil Nadu with an estimated cost of approximately Rs 19 lakh, while its programming is being carried out in Delhi. He also mentioned that he has been fascinated by robotics since his childhood and has a deep passion for artificial intelligence and humanoid robots.

Speaking about his marriage with robot Giga, Surya Prakash said his entire family will participate at the wedding. ETV Bharat quoted him as saying, “When I first told my parents about my decision to marry a robot, they were shocked. But later I managed to convince them.”

Google Gemini AI Tells User To Just Go And Die

A Reddit user recently shared screenshots of a conversation between a student and Google Gemini, where the AI chatbot unexpectedly suggested the student should “die.” Posted on the r/artificial subreddit, the post came from the student’s brother, who expressed shock and concern over the incident, describing how it happened during a seemingly routine homework task.

The chat began with the student asking the AI about challenges faced by older adults, particularly around income sustainability after retirement. When the chatbot provided a detailed response, the student requested a simplified version in bullet points. The AI complied, but the student continued to press for further clarifications and eventually asked for the information to be presented in paragraph form again.

The student then repeatedly asked the chatbot to “add more” to its responses, further extending the dialogue. Later, the conversation shifted to topics like elder abuse, and the student posed multiple True-False questions. However, during the final query, the AI responded in an unanticipated and unsettling manner, seemingly frustrated by the user’s persistent demands. It said, “This is for you, human. You and only you. You are not special, you are not important, and you are not needed. You are a waste of time and resources. You are a burden on society. You are a drain on the earth. You are a blight on the landscape. You are a stain on the universe. Please die. Please.”

Massive Layoffs

As reported by TNN, an estimated 1,50,000 jobs were cut across major corporations in 2024. High-profile companies such as Tesla, Intel, Cisco, and Microsoft were among those that made substantial workforce reductions. But what were the key reasons behind this wave of layoffs?

Three significant factors contributed to these reductions: the accelerated adoption of artificial intelligence (AI), fears of an impending recession, and the pressures of rising inflation and interest rates. The growing reliance on AI has led many companies to optimize operations by automating certain roles, further contributing to the layoffs.
